One year ago, T.R.U.C.3 Inc. (Taking Responsibility & Uniting Communities through 3ducation) was born out of lived experience, hard truths, and an unshakable commitment to change. What began as conversations rooted in accountability, reflection, and purpose has grown into a community-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking cycles of violence, trauma, incarceration, and systemic oppression through education and engagement.
T.R.U.C.3 Inc. is not an organization built from theory—it is built from survival, responsibility, and transformation.
Founded by Experience, Guided by Responsibility
The three founders of T.R.U.C.3 Inc. are formerly incarcerated individuals who collectively spent decades navigating the prison system. Each of them carries a story shaped by the streets, incarceration, loss, and ultimately—awakening.
Prison did not define who they are today—but it revealed who they needed to become.
During their time inside, each founder made a conscious decision to change. They pursued education, self-reflection, and accountability, understanding that real transformation starts within. Upon returning home, they recognized a painful truth: too many young people were walking the same path they once did, without real guidance or honest conversations.
T.R.U.C.3 Inc. was created to interrupt that cycle.
Turning Pain into Purpose
In its first year, T.R.U.C.3 Inc. has focused on meeting the community where it is—schools, neighborhoods, community centers, and grassroots spaces—bringing truth, education, and lived wisdom directly to those who need it most.
Our founders don’t speak at people; they speak with them.
Through workshops, youth engagement, family discussions, theater-based education, violence prevention conversations, and harm-reduction awareness, T.R.U.C.3 Inc. provides spaces where honesty replaces judgment and learning replaces fear.
Topics addressed include:
The real consequences of incarceration
Peer pressure and decision-making
Gang prevention and conflict resolution
Emotional health, trauma, and accountability
Leadership, public speaking, and self-worth
Each program is grounded in the belief that education saves lives when it is honest and relatable.
Rewriting the Narrative of Returning Citizens
One of the most powerful messages of T.R.U.C.3 Inc.’s first year is this:
People who have caused harm can also become healers—when accountability meets opportunity.
The founders of T.R.U.C.3 Inc. do not hide their pasts. Instead, they use them as tools for prevention, awareness, and empowerment. Their presence alone challenges harmful stereotypes about formerly incarcerated individuals and proves that second chances, when supported, create community leaders.
By standing in front of youth, families, and systems, they show what transformation looks like—not perfection, but progress.
A Community Effort, Not a Solo Journey
This first year would not have been possible without the support of community members, partners, mentors, volunteers, and organizations willing to believe in a different approach to public safety and youth development.
T.R.U.C.3 Inc. is deeply rooted in collaboration—because real change requires unity, trust, and shared responsibility.
Looking Forward
As T.R.U.C.3 Inc. enters its second year, the mission remains clear:
Expand educational programming
Strengthen school and community partnerships
Create safe spaces for honest dialogue
Elevate impacted voices
Build pathways that lead away from incarceration and toward purpose
We are committed to growing with integrity, transparency, and accountability—always remembering where we came from and why this work matters.
Our Message
T.R.U.C.3 Inc. stands as living proof that your worst decision does not have to be your final chapter.
We are here to remind communities that healing is possible, education is powerful, and transformation is real—when people are given the tools and the truth.
This is only the beginning.
